Although these are as fabulous as they get, this isn't the first generation of people wearing them. "Kimono" was originally Japanese broad term for clothing but is now known for being a tradition in their culture. While women are usually the buyers of modern-day kimonos, men, women, and children were all models for the traditional garment. Another big difference is what  is what the pieces can represent throughout history. Modern kimonos usually are just meant to be a stylish accessory that shows off a personal style. Traditional ones showed indications of social status and personal identity and were richly decorated.

Presently, kimonos are made for sunnier seasons than any other. They are usually made of a very thin fabric of some sort and are move for looks than warmth. You can throw a plain one with almost any outfit to give it a finished outfit or you can get one with an awesome pattern and base your outfit around it.

If you're liking this trend but are tight on money, you can always make your own! Depending on who your are, making this a new project could make for a super fun free day. There are several patterns that are super easy to make and you get to choose you're fabric. If a DIY is more interesting to you make sure you search for pattern and videos online for help.

See you Sunday,
Gabby
